Pastor Tim and Alicia Gilligan founded Ocala Word of Faith Church on August 20, 1989, and held the first non-denominational church service with 16 people in attendance at the Ocala Hilton. To meet the needs of the growing congegration, in December of 1990, the church moved into half the old Blocker building on State Road 200.
In November of 1992, the church purchased 40 acres of pristine property on Southwest 20th Street and proceeded with the construction of a 900-seat sanctuary, an expansion of our children's ministries, and administration offices. The first church service in the new sanctuary was held on February 4, 1996.
Through God's continued faithfulness and the generous giving of our congregants, phase I of the ministry complex was paid in full, and on December 16, 1997, the adjoining 40 acres were purchased.
By using practical methods to communicate the Good News, Pastor Tim and Ocala Word of Faith Church launched The Life of Faith television program on December 6, 1998.
A three-year building campaign was developed in 2002 to construct a new sanctuary and ministry offices. A gymnasium/all-purpose building was also built as part of the expansion plan.
On November 12, 2004, the first church service was held in the new 2200-seat sanctuary.
On August 20, 2006, Ocala Word of Faith Church became Meadowbrook Church.
As we stand in the middle of this dream today, it is proper that we look back with thankfulness upon God’s goodness, and vital that we look ahead with great expectation to all God has promised He would do. Together we stand with our vision to Honor God, Build Believers, and Touch Lives.
